Investigators from the University of Southampton and Imperial College, London, England assessed whether there is a relationship between nitrogen dioxide (NO2) exposure and the severity of childhood asthma exacerbations due to documented viral infections. In a cohort of 114 children aged 811 years, daily upper and lower respiratory tract symptoms, peak expiratory flow, and weekly personal NO2 exposure measurements were followed for up to 13 months.
