In the last decade, mass screening with tuberculin skin testing (TST) has been abandoned in favor of targeted screening based on primary care assessment of risk status. Prompted by 3 cases of tuberculosis (TB) in Boston public high schools, investigators from Boston University and the Boston Public Health Commission studied the relationship between adolescents’ self-reported tuberculin risk and their recall of having been assessed for TB risk or skin tested at the last primary care visit.
