This article is a retrospective chart review analysis of all children between the ages of 3 and 14 years seen at a single pediatric primary care clinic in Madrid, Spain, with a chief complaint of musculoskeletal pain (MSP) over the course of 3 years. For purposes of data evaluation, the children were divided into 3 cohorts: preschool, 35 years; school, 69 years; and adolescent, 1014 years. Presenting MSP complaints were categorized into 7 groups: 1) knee arthralgias; 2) other joint (ankles, wrists, small joints of the fingers) arthralgias; 3) soft tissue (muscles, ligaments, tendons) pain; 4) heel pain; 5) hip pain; 6) back pain; and 7) bony pain. An additional small group of children was seen in the primary care practice in follow-up
