Investigators from the University of California-Berkeley, Kaiser Permanente Northern California, and Yale University, New Haven, Conn., used the dataset from the Northern California Childhood Leukemia Study (NCCLS) to investigate the potential role of vaccines (DTP/DTaP, poliomyelitis, MMR, hepatitis B, and Hib) as risk factors for childhood leukemia. The NCCLS population included the counties surrounding the San Francisco Bay area (17 counties between 1995 and 1998 and 35 between 1999 and 2002).
