To assess the effect on subsequent immunity resulting from pertussis immunization in newborns, investigators from the Childrens Hospital, Mainz, Germany; GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals; and the University of Geneva, Switzerland, conducted a double-blinded, randomized control trial in healthy neonates vaccinated during the first week of life.
