To study the clinical features and response to treatment of perioral dermatitis resulting from topical steroid use (steroid rosacea), the authors retrospectively reviewed the records of 106 children (60 girls) less than 13 years of age with this condition seen at a University of Colorado dermatology clinic from 1991 to 1998. Age at onset, potency of topical steroid used, family history of rosacea, location of lesions, and treatment type and response were assessed.
