The article by Wong et al in the NEJM1 about the risk of HUS after antibiotic treatment of E coli had an error, which was unfortunately magnified rather than corrected in the commentary. HUS occurred in 56% of those who received antibiotics, compared with 8% of those who did not, a 7-fold increase in risk. Still plenty, but not the "almost 20-fold increase" described in . . .
