Researchers from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital compared the quality of outpatient surgical care at an ambulatory surgical center (ASC) to that of a hospital-based facility (HBF) during the month of October 2008. The two facilities are part of the same institution with the same attending surgical staff. However, resident physicians were at the HBF, but not the ASC.
