Investigators from France, the UK, and Germany participated in a multicenter trial comparing oral ivermectin and malathion lotion to treat patients with head lice not eradicated by topical insecticide (pyrethroids and/or malathion) used two to six weeks before enrollment. Inclusion in the study required visual observation of lice after fine-toothed combing confirmed by study staff. Participants were at least 2 years of age and 15 kg in weight.
