Investigators at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, CA, conducted a retrospective study of infants younger than 2 years with a first febrile urinary tract infection (UTI) to evaluate the efficacy of a clinical algorithm limiting the frequency of voiding cystoure-thrograms (VCUGs) and reducing routine use of prophylactic antibiotics.
