Investigators from Boston and Brandeis Universities sought to compare the use and cost of oral antibiotics among children in the United States and United Kingdom. UK prescription data were obtained from the General Practice Research Database, which contains medical information derived from general practice outpatient office electronic records on >3 million people annually enrolled in >300 practices.
