Question: Among children with newly diagnosed attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, what is the efficacy of ωfatty acids alone compared to methylphenidate alone and methylphenidate with ωfatty acids?
Question type: Intervention
Study design: Randomized trial
Investigators at the Federico Gómez Children’s Hospital of Mexico conducted a randomized, unblinded pilot study comparing the efficacy of ω-3/6 fatty acids (ω-3/6) alone, long-acting methylphenidate (MPH) alone, and a combination of MPH and ω-3/6 for the treatment of newly diagnosed attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children 6 to 12 years old.
