Investigators from multiple Children’s Oncology Group (COG) centers in the United States evaluated factors associated with adherence to daily oral 6 mercaptopurine (6MP) regimens in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and the impact of nonadherence on relapse. Study participants were children and youth, aged <21 years, with ALL in first remission and receiving maintenance therapy with 6MP. Only children with self-identified racial categories of Asian American, African American, or non-Hispanic white were enrolled.
