Investigators from multiple institutions who are part of the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators Network (PALISI) assessed the effect of a nurse-implemented goal-directed sedation protocol on clinical outcomes in children requiring mechanical ventilation for acute respiratory failure.
