Investigators from Johns Hopkins sought to evaluate the impact of socioeconomic status (SES) on timing of polysomnography (PSG) and adenotonsillectomy (AT) in children with sleep-disordered breathing (SDB). Participants presenting to otolaryngology clinic for initial evaluation of SDB were eligible for inclusion. Participants were classified into 4 groups based on the clinical recommendation at the conclusion of their evaluation: (1) PSG, (2) surgery with AT, (3) watchful waiting, or (4) follow-up as needed.
