Question: Among children with Streptococcus pneumoniae isolates from middle ear and mastoid cultures, have serotypes and antibiotic susceptibilities changed in the 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine era?

Study design: Prospective cross-sectional

Investigators from 8 US children’s hospitals sought to examine the impact of the 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) on pneumococcal otitis media and mastoiditis.
