Investigators from the University of California at San Francisco sought to evaluate the association between secondhand smoke exposure (SHS) during gestation and/or early childhood and the development of atrial fibrillation (AF) in adults. A cross-sectional analysis was performed on data derived from responses obtained between 2013 and 2014 from participants enrolled in the Health eHeart Study, an internet-based, longitudinal cohort study.
