Investigators from the University of North Carolina conducted a study to estimate the prevalence of functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) in US children and adolescents. They collected data via a nationwide Internet survey of mothers of children aged 4–18 years who were recruited from all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Washington, DC.
