Investigators from multiple institutions conducted a cross-sectional study to characterize the burden and risk factors among children hospitalized with hepatitis C virus (HCV). Data were obtained from the Kids’ Inpatient Database, which contains patient-and hospital-level discharge data from 44 states and more than 4,100 community hospitals in 3-year increments. Data abstracted for this study were from 2006, 2009, and 2012.
