Investigators from multiple institutions conducted a prospective cohort study to assess the proportion of pediatric patients who are misclassified as hypertensive based on an initial blood pressure (BP) reading. Participants were eligible if they were enrolled in the Kaiser Permanente Southern California (KPSC) Children’s Health Study, an ongoing cohort study of children and adolescents in Southern California designed to estimate the association between the severity of obesity and adverse health conditions.
