Investigators from multiple institutions conducted an analysis of data in a large observational cohort study of individuals with type 1 diabetes diagnosed before the age of 20 years to assess the prevalence and pattern of early diabetes-related comorbidities. Study participants included a subset of individuals enrolled in the SEARCH for Diabetes in Youth Study. For SEARCH, youth with diabetes diagnosed before the age of 20 years were enrolled at 5 sites across the United States.
