Investigators from the University of Minnesota and Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, both in Minneapolis, conducted a retrospective study to describe “significant interventions” during inpatient hospitalization for children with croup and to identify predictors of the need for these interventions. For the study, the medical records of children discharged from 1 of 3 tertiary pediatric hospitals in Minnesota between March 2011 and September 2015 with an ICD-9 diagnosis of croup were reviewed.
