Investigators from multiple institutions conducted a meta-analysis to assess the safety and efficacy of oral immunotherapy for peanut allergy. Investigators searched MEDLINE, Embase, the Cochrane Controlled Register of Trials, and databases at the US Food and Drug Administration and European Medicines Agency from inception to 2018 to identify published and unpublished randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing oral immunotherapy with placebo or allergen avoidance for the treatment of peanut allergy.
