Investigators from several institutions conducted a retrospective cohort study to assess the incidence of head and neck melanoma among children and young adults from the United States and Canada. Data for this study were obtained from the Cancer in North America (CiNA) data set that includes 93% of the US population and 64% of the Canadian population. Patients with CiNA data over the study period of 1995–2014 were included if they were 0–39 years old and had head and neck melanoma, as determined by ICD codes.
