Investigators from the University of Health Science, Istanbul, Turkey, conducted a prospective study to describe the presence of arthritis, gastrointestinal (GI) system involvement, and renal involvement in pediatric patients with Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP), and to identify risk factors for the development of GI involvement. Study participants were children <18 years old with HSP referred to the pediatric rheumatology unit at the authors’ institution between January 2016 and January 2018. The diagnosis of HSP was confirmed using specific criteria established by the European League Against Rheumatism, Paediatric Rheumatology Trials Organization, and Paediatric Rheumatology European Society.
