Investigators from several Turkish institutions conducted a prospective observational study to assess whether a bronchiolitis ultrasound score (BUS) predicts hospital admission in children with acute bronchiolitis. Children <24 months old who presented to the study hospital ED during the study period and were diagnosed with acute bronchiolitis were eligible. Demographic and clinical data were obtained from participants’ medical records.
The primary exposure variable was BUS. Lung ultrasound was performed by a single sonographer blinded to the patient’s clinical assessment and disposition.
