Investigators from multiple institutions conducted a retrospective cohort study to assess the clinical presentation and course of care for school-aged children diagnosed with concussion within the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP) health care network. Investigators used the CHOP electronic health record (EHR) to identify all visits from 2014 to 2015 involving children 5-11 years old with an ICD-9 diagnosis code for concussion. Among visits identified, a random sample of 20% was chosen for inclusion.
