Investigators from the Netherlands conducted a prospective observational study to assess immunogenicity of routine immunizations among preterm infants. Study participants were infants born at <36 weeks’ gestation enrolled at one of 8 Dutch hospitals between 2015 and 2017. Following the Dutch vaccination schedule, participants received a combination vaccine containing diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, acellular pertussis, inactivated poliomyelitis, Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), and hepatitis B (DTP-IPV-Hib-HBV; Infanrix-hexa, GlaxoSmithKline).
