Investigators from multiple institutions conducted a retrospective chart review to assess whether parent- and child-reported tic-related and non-tic-related impairment measured by the mini-Child Tourette Syndrome Impairment Scale correlate with symptom severity and receipt of interventions. All children <18 years old with a tic-related ICD-10 diagnosis code who were seen in the Tourette syndrome clinic at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in 2018 and who, along with their parent, completed a mini-CTIM, were eligible. Eligible encounters were randomly selected. Data regarding demographics, mini-CTIM scores, and treatments received were abstracted from the electronic health record.
