In this double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, 159 pregnant women with a family history of atopic disease (ie, ≥ 1 parent or older sibling with allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, or asthma) recruited from prenatal clinics in Finland were randomized to receive either Lactobacillus GG (1 X 1010 colony-forming units) or placebo daily for 2–4 weeks before expected delivery.
